“A right-hander with a three-pitch mix and a fluid delivery with over-the-top arm action. His change up flashed above-average with some nice tumble and run. It was an effective offering, stealing strikes from left-handed hitters to his arm side. His curve ball has 11-5 break with some twist at the end. The curve ball was his best swing-and-miss pitch. Overall a decent pitch mix, good mechanics and a pair of good secondaries make Hoffman a legit bullpen option in pro ball, even if he’s below average size and lacks huge fastball velocity.”

“Hofmann is a short, 5-foot-10 righthander who led all Division I with a 0.00 ERA in 28 innings with 38 strikeouts. Hoffman doesn’t overpower batters, but he has a fringe-average 90-91 mph fastball and an above-average 12-to-6 curveball with some power.”

2020 season, junior year at Northwestern State: Made a statement in his pandemic-shortened first taste of NCAA Division I competition, going 4-0 in four starts for the Demons while not allowing an earned run ... Struck out 38 to lead the conference ... His 28 scoreless innings was THE BEST in the NCAA ... Allowed 14 hits, walked five and hit one batter, good for a 0.68 WHIP ... Opponents hit .141 against him ... One of eight Division I pitchers to finish the season with a 0.00 ERA ...
