Good genes: My mom, Gabi, played tennis and soccer a lot. My dad, Jake, didn’t play a lot of club sports. He played baseball and fast pitch a lot later in his life.
The most influential person in my baseball life is: “Tyler Hollick (Okotoks coach) because he taught me the most about how to attack the game with a good mentality. He also refined my hitting mechanics a lot.”
Itchy And Scratchy: The Southern Illinois moved into the brand new $4.2 million Richard “Itchy” Jones Stadium in 2014 after playing at Abe Martin Field since 1964. The facility is named after SIU’s all-time winningest coach. In 21 years, Jones led the Salukis to 10 NCAA tournaments and three College World Series. The Jays selected SIU’s Dave Stieb in the fifth round of the amateur draft in 1978.
