Good genes: “Mom, Debra, played basketball and softball, while dad, Lee, played fastball, volleyball, basketball and college hockey.”
Most influential person in my baseball life: “My dad for sure has been the biggest supporter and influence on my baseball life, can’t thank my entire family enough for the support. My mom, sister and grandparents.
“Beyond that Bill Green was one of the most influential men on my career because he pushed me to believe I could do more. He helped me market myself to colleges and seek out uncomfortable experiences like showcases in high school where I felt like my talent wasn’t quite there yet. He has such a passion and an attitude for success that even though I didn’t share it at the time pushed me to a fake it till you make it kind of attitude which had me doing things I wasn’t comfortable with at the time but ended up setting me on the path of growth I needed to be on.
“Bill’s son Taylor Green (now a Brewers scout) was also a huge inspiration of mine growing up and was the first to show me that it’s possible to make it into professional baseball coming from a small Vancouver island town.”
Scout: Gary McGraw.
