Confidential MLB Scouting Bureau report

By Bob Elliott

MINNEAPOLIS -- Handed out to scouts at annual SiriusXM Futures Game on Sunday ...

LHP Daniel Norris (7-0, 1.84, 83.1 IPs, 26 BB, 101 Ks 13 GS Dunedin, 3 New Hampshire)

Arm Action: Good, Delivery: Fair, Arm angle: 3/4. Fastball: 91-95 MPH.

Plus athletic LHP with wipeout spurts, arsenal over pitchability. Harder = better mentality. Falls in love with sharp slider. Enough K with enough frequency. Drifts in gather/recover arm speed. Curve sinks. arm speed on Change will upgrade. Matt Moore head. C.J. Wilson top. Projection: Top of rotation.

OF Dalton Pompey (.293 average, 13 doubles, seven triples, seven homers, 39 RBIs, 31-for-35 stealing bases in 85 games at Dunedin, N.H.)

Profiles in centre with speed/glove/arm trio. Add ability to impact as a base stealing threat. Worst case he’s an extra OF. Hit attributes-quick twitch, fast bat, good bat angle. Some green to ABs, occasionally overmatched, but toolsey. Extra explosive gear only MLB players have. Risk/reward CF.

C A.J. Jimenez (.256, one, 15, .656 at New Hampshire, Buffalo)

Big-bodied receiver. Straight-away hitting approach, makes steady occasional hard contact. Slight upper-cutting stroke. Will chase up, out of zone. Strength for homer power. Steady receiver. Stays square, blocks well. Adequate release. Stands to throw. MLB receiver future.
