Abram commits sooner to Oklahoma

Ontario Terriers RHP Ben Abram committed to the Oklahoma Sooners Monday.
The 6-foot-7, 205-pounder Abram (Georgetown, Ont.) is 16 but is a roster player on the Terriers 18u team and is also a member of the Canadian Junior National Team for the fall of 2018. He blossomed last August at the Major League Scouting Bureau camp at Connorvale Park in Etobicoke.
The Sooners compete in the powerhouse BIG 12 Conference with in state rivals the Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Texas Longhorns, Baylor Bears, Kansas Jayhawks and the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
The University of Oklahoma was founded in 1890 and is located in Norman Oak and is home to 31,000 students and 19 NCAA D1 sports.
Baseball is a rich tradition at OU. They played their first game in 1898 and have an all time record of 2,476-1,420. The Sooners have 36 NCAA post season appearances and 10 College World Series appearances, coming away with the title twice.
Abram is a multi sport athlete. In addition to baseball he also plays volleyball and basketball. He was named Impact Volleyball Player of the Year and recently at a basketball tournament in Syracuse he was honored with being named to the All Tournament team.
Last September Abram pitched in the T12 Tournament at Rogers Center and was named an All-Star. He has also garnered the Athlete of the Year Award twice in high school.
