Like counting sheep ...
One zero, two zeros, three zeros ...

Four zeros, five zeros, six zeros ...
He picked up the win as Lancaster made sure the earth was soild underneath him facing the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes.
Seven zeros ...
Dykxhoorn (Goderich, Ont.) pitched seven scoreless in a 15-1 Lancaster win at the The Hangar before 1,796 fans to earn the Canadian Baseball Network Minor League player of the week honors.
Dykxhoorn, a sixth round pick from Central Arizona College by the Houston Astros from the 2014 draft he bumped his record to 10-4 and lowered his ERA to 5.02. Dykxhoorn allowed a double to 1B Matt Beaty, a single to Ariel Sandoval and a double to Andre Ethier, the 10-year major-league veteran.

And in other news this week
_ OF Tyler O’Neill (Maple Ridge, BC) capped off a remarkable season with the Jackson Generals as he was selected the Double A Southern League’s Most Valuable Player and he was also named to the post-season All Star Team.
_ O’Neill will play for the Peoria Javalenas in the Arizona Fall League along with four other Canucks. The others: Pittsburgh Pirates farmhand 3B Eric Wood (Pickering, Ont.) with the Surprise Saguaros and St. Louis Cardinals RP Rowan Wick (North Vancouver, BC) of the Glendale Desert Dogs. Milwaukee Brewers’ Dave Chavarria (Burnaby, BC) will serve as the pitching coach with the Salt River Rafters and Blue Jays coach Vince Horsman (Halifax, NS) will be the pitching coach with the Mesa Solar Sox.
_ Nick Pivetta (Victoria, BC) won his start this week with Philadelphia Phillies triple-A Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs, ending the 2016 season with 12 wins, the most for any Canadian Pitcher in the Minor Leagues.
-
_ Eric Gagne (Mascouche, Que.) signed with the Ottawa Champions of the Independent Can Am League. Gagne was activated and started Ottawa’s game Sept. 5 against the Quebec Capitales, before a franchise record 7,886 fans. Gagne, 40, the former major leaguer did not disappoint. His pitching line was five innings, two base hits, one earned run, zero walks and six strikeouts. He was not involved in the decision. It was a remarkable performance, given his age and lack of any game action all season.
