The two best travelling elite teams have their annual meeting in Jupiter, Fla.
This time it was the DBacks Langley Blaze team, coached by Arizona Diamondbacks scout Doug Mathieson, who bolstered him team with additions from Ohio and Alaska, scored an 11-5 win over the Ontario Blue Jays.
Danny Berg (Saskatoon, Sask.) and Clayton Keyes (Calgary, Alta.) each had three hits as the DBacks Langley Blaze won on Day 1 of play at the 17th annual WWBA World Championship at the Roger Dean Sports Complex in Jupiter, Fla.
Berg was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs while Keyes had three singles.
Rhys Cratty (Langley, BC) had a pair of hits driving in two runs, while Mitchell Rennie (West Kelowna, BC) singled and knocked in two runs.
Jayden Wakeham (Victoria, BC) had a base hit and Michael Stovman (Maple Ridge, BC) knocked in a run as the Blaze scored in six innings out of seven.
Bryce O’Farrell (Burlington, Ont.) had a pair of hits for the Ontario Blue Jays. Nate Holmes (Mississauga, Ont.) took the loss allowing five runs -- three earned -- on five hits and two walks in 2 1/3 innings.
Blake Buckle (Milton, Ont.) singled in a run, while Cooper Davis (Mississauga, Ont.), Jacob Newton (Oakville, Ont.), Ty Silva (Cambridge, Ont.) and Rashhad Collymore (Mississauga, Ont.) all had singles.

Davis had a pair of hits as the Ontario Blue Jays fell 2-0 to Team Elite Nation. Owen Jansen (Oakville, Ont.), George Farid (Mississauga, Ont.) and Collymore each had one hit.
Devin Green (Brampton, Ont.) took the loss but deserved a better fate allowing four hits and a walk, allowing two runs in 6 2/3 innings. He had a 99-pitch outing, with 71 strikes. Green gave up one run in the second and another in the sixth. Ryan Kula (Toronto, Ont.) retired the final out.

Tyler Small (Mississauga, Ont.) had a pair of hits as Canada Perfect Game Gold opened with a 4-1 loss to the Homeplate Chilidogs. Ryan Johnston (Oakville, Ont.) singled.
Ethan Seaver (Niagara Falls, Ont.) pitched 5 2/3 innings allowing four runs on six hits and a walk. Seaver finished his 96-pitch outing with 59 strikes.
Jaden Brown (Mississauga, Ont.) and Ethan Hammond (Oakville, Ont.) each had scoreless outings.

Stephen Kinal (Terra Cotta, Ont.) helped Canada Perfect Game Gold battle the Atlanta Blue Jays to a 0-0 tie. Kinal pitched a complete-game seven hitter, walking one and striking out seven. He had a 94-pitch outing with 64 strikes averaging 84.3 MPH.
Kyle Stevenson (Oshawa, Ont.) doubled, while Jake Ervin (Mississauga, Ont.), Johnston and Hammond also singled for Canada PG Gold’s four hits.

The Toronto Blue Jays Scout Team -- run by Toronto Blue Jays scouts -- was no hit in a scoreless tie against Chain National. There are two Canadians on the team. Dondrae Bremner (Toronto, Ont) was hitless in three at-bats.
