And 37 more makes 160 players

Rosters for the fourth annual Tournament 12 were finalized Tuesday afternoon. 

The tourney runs Sept. 15-19 at the Rogers Centre, beginning with a scout day for all eight teams and the championship game on the 19th.

Earlier this complicated selection process, different from last year got off the ground when BC Orange, Atlantic Maroon, Alberta Red and Prairies Purple had their complete rosters selected.

Now, after final training camps in Ajax 10 more players were added to the Ontario Green and Quebec Blue teams, while nine more were added to the Ontario Black team and eight to the Futures. Blue Jays Canadian scouting director Jamie Lehman, T.J. Burton of the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy and other scouts were involved in the selection process. 

It’s impossible to please every player and every parent who thinks their son belongs on the biggest stage for high school players.

Hall of Famer Robbie Alomar is the commissioner of the event. Past winners include the Atlantic, Quebec and last year’s champs, the Prairies, a run which has yet to end as Saskatchewan won the Canada Cup and a bronze at the 18U.

Talent hot beds like British Columbia and Ontario have yet to win the Tournament 12.
