Three wins in four games on as the Buffalo Bisons brought their bats, and the other three teams got great starting pitching.

Buffalo Bisons 16, Toledo Mud Hens 2
The Bisons saw the bats return to life just when Luke Scott was activated for action in a 16-2 drubbing of Toledo. Friday’s hero, Ryan Schimpf, was out of the lineup but Brad Glenn continues to swing a hot bat, going 4/5 with two doubles, an RBI and three runs scored. Matt Hague was 3/5 with a home run and four RBI while Luke Scott was 3/4 with a double and two RBI, a walk and two runs scored. Chris Dickerson hit the biggest blast, hitting a grand slam for his first home run as a Bison and adding a double while driving in five and taking a walk. Melky Mesa also hit a home run, going 1/4 with a walk. Andy Burns also contributed two hits while Dalton Pompey was 1/4 with a walk and an outfield assist.

Not to be outdone by the hitters, Andrew Albers picked up his second win as a Bison with seven innings of two-run, four-hit, two-walk ball, striking out three.Rob Rasmussen finished it off with a scoreless (but scary) eighth.

Roster Notes: Scott was activated for the Bisons.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 1, Binghamton Mets 6
The Fisher Cats got out to a quick start, scoring a run (thanks to a K.C. Hobson RBI ground out) in the top of the first and getting strong pitching from starter John Anderson through five. Anderson allowed just one run on four hits and two walks with three strikeouts before a 1:23 rain delay ended his day.Cory Burns was fooling no one, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk in his inning while Greg Burke surrendered another run. Luis Perez pitched a perfect eighth. The offense got doubles from Jon Berti and Andy Fermin with singles from Kevin Nolan, Pierce Rankin and Ian Parmley.

Player of the Game: Anderson.

Dunedin Blue Jays 3, Lakeland Flying Tigers 1
The Blue Jays picked up a win thanks to some timely hitting but mostly strong pitching. Murphy Smith went six innings, allowing just one unearned run on five hits and no walks with five strikeouts while Jimmy Cordero was perfect through two and Wil Browning picked up his 10th save, striking out two in the ninth.

Jonathan Davis (J.D.) keeps mashing, even at a new level and he was 3/4 with two doubles and two runs scored (and adding an outfield assist) while Matt Dean drove in a pair, going 1/4.

Roster Notes: Michael Kraft was sent back to extended spring training andDavid Harris was placed on the DL while both Phil Kish and Boomer Collinswere promoted to Dunedin.

Player of the Game: Davis and Smith.

Lansing Lugnuts 4, West Michigan Whitecaps 3
The Lugnuts got a couple of solo home runs and their four-run cushion was just enough to hold off the West Michigan Whitecaps for a 4-3 win. Chase De Jong had an excellent start, allowing three hits and two walks in six innings without allowing a run and striking out four. He also induced twice as many groundouts as flyouts which, for De Jong, is a big step. Colton Turner came on for a solid seventh but the Whitecaps reached him for three runs in the eighth before Jose Fernandez came into strand a runner and pick up a four-out save.

Eight of the nine starters for the Lugnuts got one hit with Richard Urena hitting his fifth home run and Dan Jansen hitting his third. Gunnar Heidt and Ryan McBroom each hit a double while Tim Locastro was 0/1 with a walk, a HBP and a stolen base.

Roster Notes: With Phil Kish and Boomer Collins sent up to Dunedin, the Lugnuts got Dusty Isaacs and Tim Mayza from extended spring training whileJosh Almonte came off the DL.
