Acosta-Tapia, Wood two of 24 Canucks with ranked JUCO teams

OF Charles Acosta-Tapia (Laval, Que.) of the Western Oklahoma Pioneers is one of 23 Canadians on the top 50 ranked JUCO teams according to Perfect Game.

OFs Christopher Acosta-Tapia and Max Wood were on the same mythical team this off season.

Both were named to the 2015 Canadian Baseball Network All-Canadian College Team earning Honourable Mention honors.

Now, both Wood (Vancouver, BC) of the San Jacinto Gators, and Acosta-Tapia (Laval, Que.) of the Western Oklahoma State Pioneers, are two of 24 Canadians on the rosters of the top 50 teams Perfect Game USA.

Wood, whose Gators are No. 3-ranked this spring, hit .331 with five doubles, two triples, six homers and 41 RBI in 51 games. He had a .931 OPS and was 13-for-15 stealing bases.  

Acosta-Tapia with the 30th-ranked Western Oklahoma batted .390 with 10 doubles, two triples, 11 homers and 38 homers in 56 games. He had a 1.159 OPS stealing 17-for-20.

The two other Pioneers are 1B John Anthony Lantigua (Quebec City, Que.) and RHP Jason Tarapasky (Pierrefonds, Que.).
