Blue Jays from Away
The Blue Jays’ minor league affiliates had another even record at 2-2 on Tuesday, with wins from the Lansing Lugnuts and New Hampshire Fisher Cats.
Buffalo Bisons 0, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders 7
The Bisons couldn’t follow up their nine-run performance on Monday and were shut out by the RailRiders on Tuesday in a 7-0 loss. Scott Diamond got the start but allowed six runs (four earned) on five hits (including a home run) and two walks in 4 2/3 innings, striking out two. Pat McCoy followed with 2 1/3 strong innings, stranding an inherited runner and giving up just one unearned run on a hit and a walk with three strikeouts. Bobby Korecky threw a scoreless eighth to finish things for the Bisons’ pitching staff.
The Bisons only had five hits, getting two singles from Matt Dominguez, and singles from Andy Burns, Jesus Montero and Jio Mier.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 7, Hartford Yard Goats 2
The Fisher Cats rebounded from Monday’s loss with a big 7-2 win against the Hartford Yard Goats on Tuesday. Luis Santos posted a strong start, giving up two runs (one earned) on seven hits and two walks in six innings with five strikeouts. John Stilson followed with two hitless innings, walking one and striking out two while Chris Smith pitched around two hits to throw a scoreless innings of his own.
The offense got the most out of nine hits including a big, 3/4 night from Jorge Saez who had two doubles and four RBI while throwing out two of the three runners who tried to steal. Ian Parmley also had two hits and scored twice while K.C. Hobson was 1/3 with a walk and two runs.

Dunedin Blue Jays 7, Tampa Yankees 12
The Blue Jays had another game in which they scored a lot of runs, but on Tuesday, it wasn’t enough as they fell to the Tampa Yankees by a 12-7 score. Ryan Borucki was hit hard, giving up six runs on eight hits and two walks in three innings before Alonzo Gonzalez stopped the bleeding, throwing two innings without giving up a hit and striking out one. Chris Rowley, took the next onslaught from the Yankees, giving up another six runs on five hits and two walks in three innings.
Emilio Guerrero led the offense again, going 3/5 with a double and an RBI while Christian Lopes hit his second home run of the year, going 2/3 with two walks, two RBI and a run. Jonathan Davis continues his powerful start to the year, hitting his team-leading fourth home run of the year, going 2/4 with the home run and adding a walk. Danny Jansen also had two hits, driving in a pair of runs, taking a walk and stealing a base while Ryan McBroom was 1/4 with a solo shot and a walk.

Lansing Lugnuts 3, Fort Wayne Tincaps 2
The Lugnuts came back from a loss on Monday to walk off with a 3-2 win against the Fort Wayne Tincaps, scoring in the bottom of the ninth. In the end, it was a Carl Wise single that scored Ryan Hissey to win the game. For Wise, it was his only hit and added a walk to his night. Juan Kelly had a fantastic night at the plate. The first baseman was 3/4 with a double and a run while Ryan Hissey (2/4, R) and Josh Almonte (2/4, RBI, SB) each had two hits.
The Lugnuts needed only two pitchers with starter Tayler Saucedo going 6 1/3 innings, needing just 65 pitches to do so. He allowed both runs (one earned) on three hits and no walks and struck out three, getting 10 ground outs and six fly outs. Dusty Isaacs blew the save by allowing the runner he inherited from Saucedo to score, but earned the win, providing 2 2/3 innings of two-hit relief with one strikeout.
