Two-and-two seems to be the order of the day for the Blue Jays minor league clubs as Buffalo tries to climb back to .500 and Dunedin got to 8-6 with their win. New Hampshire drops to 5-7 and the Lugnuts sit at 6-5 after Wednsday’s action.

Buffalo Bisons 8, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders 1
The Bisons brought their bats to Scranton, tallying 16 hits and eight runs in a walloping of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Wednesday night. Alexi Casilla led the way with four hits, driving in two runs while Domonic Brown provided the power, hitting two home runs and going 3/5, adding a double, scoring three times and driving in four. Matt Dominguez also had three hits, with two singles and a double and Junior Lake and Jesus Montero each had two hits, with Lake taking a walk. Dalton Pompey left the game in the bottom of the fourth inning for undisclosed reasons.

On the mound, Wade LeBlanc had another strong start, striking out eight in seven innings and allowing just one run on four hits and a walk. Dustin Antolin struck out the side in the eighth and Ben Rowen put a bow on it retiring the side in order in the ninth.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 2, Hartford Yard Goats 9
Wearing their “bipartisan” jerseys that were half red and half blue, the Fisher Cats may leave them in the locker room next time as they committed three errors and gave up 13 hits on the way to a 9-2 loss to the Hartford Yard Goats. John Anderson took the brunt of the barrage, allowing seven runs (six earned) on 10 hits (including two home runs) in four innings, striking out four but walking only one. Brady Dragmire allowed another two runs, walking three and giving up two hits in 1 2/3 innings. Wil Browning came and stranded a runner, pitching 2 1/3 scoreless, allowing one hit and one walk with two strikeouts and Daniel Schlereth pitched a scoreless ninth, giving up just one walk.

The offense was held to four hits and two runs, both coming on Matt Dean’s second home run of the season as he went 2/3 with the dinger and a walk. Rowdy Tellez was 0/2 with two walks.

Dunedin Blue Jays 8, Tampa Yankees 4
The Dunedin offense continues to roll as the D-Jays scored eight in a win against the Tampa Yankees. Jonathan Davis (a.k.a., J.D.) had another big game, hitting a double, a triple, while taking two walks, scoring once, stealing a base and driving in three. D.J. Davis also had a solid game, going 2/4 with an RBI, a run and two stolen bases. Derrick Loveless also got in on the two-hit parade with two singles and added a walk, two stolen bases and three runs. The Blue Jays, under manager Ken Huckaby, were running wild, stealing nine bases off of catcher Wes Wilson and even catcher Mike Reeves (1/4, 2B, BB, 2 SB, 2 R, RBI) stole two bases.

On the mound, Juliandry Higuera, in his first year of full-season ball, struggled with his control, walking four batters in 3 1/3 innings, giving up two runs with three strikeouts. Carlos Ramirez earned the win, allowing a run on a solo home run over 2 2/3 innings while striking out two. Adonys Cardona (1 IP, 1 H, 1 K), Tim Mayza (1 IP, 1 BB, 1 K) and Matt Dermody (1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 2 K) finished the game for the Blue Jays.

Lansing Lugnuts 1, Fort Wayne Tincaps 6
The Lansing offense went quiet as the bullpen failed to hold the Fort Wayne Tincaps in a 6-1 loss. Francisco Rios had a solid start, going five innings and allowing just one unearned run on four hits and two walks with six strikeouts (in 80 pitches). Conor Fisk took the loss, allowing another two runs on a two-run blast in the sixth inning, marring an otherwise excellent outing. He only allowed two hits in three innings without walking anyone and striking out three. Evan Smith allowed three runs in one inning finishing the game, giving up four hits.

The offense was quiet but Ryan Hissey had two singles and a stolen base but had a rough night at the plate, committing two passed balls and letting two wild pitches from Fisk get away from him. J.C. Cardenas was 1/3 with a double and Lane Thomas was 0/2 with two walks and a stolen base.

Player of the Game: Francisco Rios
