Blue Jays from away
The Blue Jays’ minor league affiliates were 1-3 on the day despite solid pitching performances in two of the losses. Once again, the Lansing Lugnuts were the sole victors.
Buffalo Bisons 2, Lehigh Valley IronPigs 3
The Bisons scored two runs late but it wasn’t enough to overcome the early three-run deficit as they fell to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs 3-2. Scott Diamond was on the hill and had a solid start, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks with one strikeout in six innings. Ben Rowen and David Aardsma each allowed a hit and struck out a batter, throwing a scoreless inning each.
The Bisons only managed two hits including Andy Burns’s first home run of the year, driving in both runs.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 2, Binghamton Mets 5
The Fisher Cats dropped their second game in a row to the Binghamton Mets on Saturday, losing 5-2. K.C. Hobson provided all the offense, going 2/4 with a two-run home run in the second inning. Rowdy Tellez added a double but struck out twice.
Jeremy Gabryszwski continues to have a solid season, allowing just two runs in six innnings, on six hits and a walk with four strikeouts but Brady Dragmire took the loss, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks in 1 1/3 innings. John Stilson did an excellent job, pitching 1 2/3 innings and stranding two inherited runners from Dragmire before pitching a scoreless ninth.

Dunedin Blue Jays 6, Daytona Tortugas 11
The D-Jays came out on the wrong end of a slugfest as they scored too few runs too late in the game. Juliandry Higuera returned from extended spring training to allow seven runs over two innings. He walked two, threw two wild pitches and gave up six hits including a home run. Alonzo Gonzalez allowed a run on four hits and a walk in two innings but struck out three. Bo Schultz, in his second rehab stint, allowed three runs and got only two batters out while Matt Dermody stranded one of Schultz’s runners and finished the inning. Adonys Cardona settled things down, striking out one and giving up a hit in his inning while Carlos Ramirez retired all six batters he faced, striking out a pair to finish the game.
The top three and bottom one of the order had two hits each, with Michael Bourn going 2/4 with a double, a walk, an RBI and two runs. Jason Leblebijian hit his first home run of the year, adding a walk and a single, driving in two. Derrick Loveless was on four times, hitting two doubles, taking two walks, driving in two and stealing a base. David Harris was 2/4 with a double.

Lansing Lugnuts 3, Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 0
The Lugnuts were engaged in a pitcher’s duel for 10 innings before they broke the game open, scoring three runs in the top of the 11th to finally take the win in Wisconsin. Jon Harris returned from the DL to pitch four excellent innings before being removed after only 43 innings. He allowed two hits and a walk with four strikeouts. Tayler Saucedo provided another six innings of scoreless ball, allowing two hits and one walk with three strikeouts while Colton Turner saved his fourth game with a scoreless 11th.
Andrew Guillotte, Juan Kelly and J.C. Cardenas had two hits each with Cardenas leading off the 11th with a single and Guillotte following him with another hit. Kelly drove in Cardenas with a single and Ryan Hissey hit a sac fly. Kelly added a double and a walk.

Roster Notes: Sean Reid-Foley was placed on the seven-day DL retroactive to April 29 and Jon Harris was activated from the remporarily inactive list.
