Blue Jays from Away
Wednesday was another 2-2 day for the Blue Jays’ minor leaguers with the Bisons and Fisher Cats coming up with wins but the Dunedin Blue Jays and Lugnuts losing.
Buffalo Bisons 2, Durham Bulls 3
The Bisons had a four-game winning streak snapped by a 3-2 loss to the Durham Bulls in another close game that took until the late innings to decide. Scott Diamond went six strong innings, giving up two runs on four hits and two walks with four strikeouts but it was Chad Jenkins, who allowed one unearned run on two hits with two strikeouts, who factored into the decision, taking the loss.
Dalton Pompey was 2/3 with a walk and a double, scoring a run, to lead the offense. Jesus Montero was 1/3 with a double while Alexi Casilla was 1/2 with a double and two walks.

Roster Notes: Darrell Ceciliani was activated off the DL along with Pat McCoy while Arnold Leon was placed on the temporarily inactive list.
New Hampshire Fisher Cats 2, Portland Sea Dogs 1
The Fisher Cats were up early to sweep away the Portland Sea Dogs in a 10:35 start that garnered the club a 2-1 win. Shane Dawson threw five solid innings, limiting the Sea Dogs to just one run despite giving up seven hits and three walks with three strikeouts. Brady Dragmire (2 IP, 1 H, 2 K) earned the win while Murphy Smith (1 IP, 2 K) and Wil Browning (1 IP, 1 H, 1 K, S) finished the game off.
Jon Berti and Dwight Smith each had two hits with Smith taking a walk but Derrick Loveless hit his first Double-A home run to account for both Fisher Cats runs, adding a walk to the dinger.

Dunedin Blue Jays 7, Clearwater Threshers 9
Brad Allen didn’t quite have the same stuff he did in his previous outing, giving up all nine runs to the Clearwater Threshers in a 9-7 loss on Wednesday. Allen surrendered the runs over 4 2/3 innings, giving up nine hits (including a home run) and four walks with five strikeouts. Nate Abel, recently added to the Blue Jays’ roster, threw 2 1/3 stellar innings, giving up one hit and striking out four. Adonys Cardona gave the Jays another scoreless inning, striking out a pair and Alonzo Gonzalez struck out one in his inning of relief.
David Harris, who has been very cold of late, led the offense, going 2/4 with a double and a home run, driving in two and scoring twice. Dickie Joe Thon (2/4, R, SB) and Richard Urena (2/5, 3B, RBI) also had two hits apiece. Emilio Guerrero drove in another two runs with his first home run of hte year, going 1/4. Coming off a stellar game on Tuesday, Jason Leblebijian struck out five times on Wednesday.

Roster Notes: The Blue Jays assigned Colton Turner to extended spring training and placed Jose Fernandez on the 7-day DL, bringing in Nate Abel and Jackson Lowery from extended.
Lansing Lugnuts 1, Bowling Green Hot Rods 6
While their 10:35 am start time was delayed by 12 minutes, the Lansing Lugnuts got out of Bowling Green in a hurry, getting swept with a 6-1 loss. Tayler Saucedo was lit up for five runs on six hits and a walk with three strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings before Starlyn Suriel (mostly) cooled things down, pitching 3 1/3 innings with one run on two hits against and three strikeouts. Daniel Lietz continued his strong 2016 campaign with two scoreless, hitless innings.
The Lugnuts had just four hits, including a double and a walk from Andrew Guillotte.
