OTTAWA - Baseball Canada welcomes June Sterling to the office staff in the role of administrative coordinator. Sterling replaces the recently retired Denise Thomas who served the organization as administrative coordinator since 2004.

Among Sterling’s responsibilities are travel logistics for National Teams and board members, assistance with the Sport Canada Athlete Assistance program, the organization of the Baseball Canada Alumni Banquet and organization of the annual General Meeting and Fall Convention.

“I’m looking forward to this new opportunity with Baseball Canada,” said Sterling. “With my administrative and office experience combined with my passion for baseball, I’m really excited to be here and contribute to the organization right away.

Sterling, a Calgary native, comes to Baseball Canada with extensive administrative experience including 15 years in the truck/dealership industry and 10 years operating her own administrative and accounting firm. Sterling can be reached via email at info@baseball.ca

Baseball Canada as well as coaches, players and anyone who ever flew to a World Cup, Pan Am, World Baseball Classic event, or joined the National Junior Team on a trip to Florida, Australia, the Dominican Republic and Cuba owes a great deal to Thomas for her 12 years of service to the organization.

Thomas was the backbone of the office and worked long hours each year come banquet time, or the rain out cancelling travel plans. 

When it comes times to list the all-time Baseball Canada heavy hitters the short list would include Larry Walker, Justin Morneau, Joey Votto and Thomas.

Baseball Canada would like to wish the clean up hitter well in her retirement.
