21U Women’s Invitational: Ontario comes Back and wins gold

OTTAWA - The final day of action at the 2019 21U Women’s Invitational happened Sunday.
Ontario captured Gold while Québec earned Silver and Manitoba secured Bronze.
The action started early with a Gold Medal tiebreaker game between Nova Scotia and Québec. Québec won 5-4 and advanced to play Ontario. Alexane Fournier tossed four innings while striking out five and collecting 2 RBI at the plate.
Manitoba dominated in Bronze Medal competition against Nova Scotia. The game was won in the fifth inning due to mercy rule after Manitoba shut out Nova Scotia and won 13-0.
Québec and Ontario concluded the tournament in a fight for Gold. Québec got an early hold of the game and led 8-4 through five innings. Ontario completed a comeback in the bottom of the seventh and walked off the game in an extra eighth inning. They won 9-8 after a hard fought tournament.
