Official National Baseball Hall of Fame News Release

(COOPERSTOWN, NY) – The eyes of the baseball world will be focused on Cooperstown in less than four weeks, with the legends of the game in town to see history unfold during the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.

Thirty-eight past-inducted Hall of Fame members are expected to return Sept. 8 to celebrate the induction of the Hall of Fame Class of 2020. As of Aug. 16, 41 total Hall of Famers, including 2021 inductees Derek Jeter, Ted Simmons and Larry Walker, are scheduled to be at the Induction Ceremony in Cooperstown, held on the grounds of the Clark Sports Center.

The Class of 2020, which includes the late Marvin Miller along with Jeter, Simmons and Walker, will be inducted on Wednesday, Sept. 8, with the Induction Ceremony beginning at 1:30 p.m. ET. The 2021 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will air live on MLB Network, which has televised the event every year since its launch in 2009. Jeter, Simmons and Walker will speak at the Induction Ceremony, with former Major League Baseball Players Association executive director Don Fehr speaking about Miller.

Admission to the Sept. 8 Induction Ceremony is free.

The Induction Ceremony will be held on the grounds of the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown starting at 1:30 p.m. E.T. on Sept. 8, unless severe weather forces the event cancellation. Seating is free and unlimited and the Ceremony is expected to last three hours. The Ceremony will be televised live on MLB Network and broadcast nationally on Sirius XM Radio.

Based on Otsego County, State of New York and CDC guidelines, unvaccinated individuals attending the Induction Ceremony are requested to wear masks.

The Museum will be open extended hours from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8. Hall of Fame Members receive free admission to the Museum year-round, and membership information is available at baseballhall.org/join. Museum members also receive a host of benefits, including a subscription to the bi-monthly magazine, Memories and Dreams, an annual copy of the Hall of Fame Yearbook, 10 percent off retail store purchases, plus free shipping, and more.

The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is open seven days a week year round, with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. The Hall of Fame is currently open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Sept. 7 and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sept. 8. From Sept. 9 until Memorial Day Weekend, the Museum observes daily regular hours of 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Ticket prices are $25 for adults (13 and over), $20 for seniors (65 and over) and $15 for juniors (ages 7-12) and $18 for those holding current memberships in the VFW, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion and AMVets organizations.
