OKOTOKS, Alta. _ The friendly confines of Seaman Stadium played host to the Field of Dreams Charity Slow-Pitch Game and Home Run Derby on Friday.

Over 3,500 people came to watch the former Calgary Flames greats and ex-Calgary Stampeders go head-to-head. 

Lanny McDonald sat on the patio down the third base line greeting fans and signing autographs prior to the home run derby. The Hall of Famers had an interesting trip around the bases ... sliidng into third and then being ushered home from third.

Once the game started, though, it was Stamps quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell stealing the show with a bat in his hand.

Hitting nine home runs himself, Mitchell’s Stampeders edged the Flames greats 13-9 in the long ball contest.

The Okotoks Dawgs then had their chance to take on a mixed-bag of Flames and Stampeders in a seven inning slo-pitch. A late-game rally from the Dawgs tied things at 13-13.

Drew Tate, Jamar Wall, Deron Mayo and Quinn Smith were some of the Stamps on hand.

Former Flames Jamie Macoun, Theoren Fleury, Joel Otto and Sheldon Kennedy represented the Flames. 

Okotoks Dawgs Hall of Famer Jimmy Henderson the former major leaguer was on hand, along with Liam Stroud and CJ. Lewington.

Proceeds from the Field of Dreams event go to support Life Choice Dynamics and Canadian Centre for Male Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse. QB Mitchell sits on the board of Life Choice Dynamics, which helps CFL players prepare to successfully transition from a career playing football to the life that comes after retirement.
