ABC hires Fred Rioux
One of the main high performance priorities of Baseball Quebec and more particularly of the Baseball Academy of Canada is the integration of sports sciences into its operations. In fact, the ABC has integrated Rapsodo and Blast Motion into the tools used to measure the performance of its athletes.
Now the ABC has made another significant addition to the integrated support coaching team. Fred Rioux, former Seattle Mariners scout, joins the team as a technology data processing consultant for prospect development.
“For the Baseball Academy of Canada to become a state-of-the-art, high performance academy, we need to reach the cutting edge of technology as quickly as possible,” said Baseball Quebec general manager Maxime Lamarche. “Fred has developed a great expertise in the use and analysis of the data provided by these different technologies working for the Mariners in recent years. We will therefore be able to make the most of it for our athletes.”
The new member of the integrated support team said he is very happy to join the CBA.
“It’s a return to Quebec soil for me,” Rioux said. “I had the chance to travel America through my job with the Mariners and now I’m able to take this experience to help the Quebec hopefuls is a great challenge for me.
“I thank the people of Baseball Quebec and the Canadian Baseball Academy for trusting me.”
Hiring Rioux demonstrates the seriousness of Baseball Quebec always attempting to better with the provine’s high performance. All that remains is the permission for the players to take the field and resume baseball activities.
