The ABC gained its other win of the summer at the Dynamic 16U Elite Invitational championship beating Canes National 2020 2-1 at the University of North Carolina.

It was the first time a team has matched that trifecta since T-Rex won three times in 2016 at one age. Coach Rob Fatal and pitching coach pitching coach Rene-Dave Pelchat’s staff went a combined 17-3 in the three tournies.

This year the ABC headed to the PBR National championships in LakePoint in Ga., for travel teams at the 17U and 16U levels.

2020 3B/RHP Dominic Teoli, a two-way player for Academy Baseball Canada came up huge for them this morning. At the plate, he tied the game up with a crucial single; changing the completion of the game. He later came in out of the pen and shut the game down, pounding the zone with strikes; and ABC never looked back. Teoli is an Uncommitted 2020 grad.

Yohan Dessureault, (Trois-Rivieres, Que..) hit an inside-thepark home run as ABC won the final.

Yohan Dessureault, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound infielder was the star of the finals for ABC. He got the game off to a good start, circling the bases for an inside the park home run in the first inning. He followed that up with a base-hit in his second at-bat. He also flashed the leather, ranging up the middle to snag a line-drive that had single written all over it. Dessureault is still uncommitted and could be a good get for a school at the next level.

2020 Uncommitted Emilien Pitre of the ABC hits a double the other way. He was 4.43 on the turn.

PBR Georgia

2020 Nathan Liliberte of ABC with the inside the park home run in winner take all for pool play. Have had him earlier this week down the line at 4.24. Kid can run with bat to ball skills

Dominic Teoli (ABC), 2020 right-hander with late sinking action on his fastball that missed bats and produced a lot of ground balls. A little coil turn in the delivery to add some deception, the slider was down with good tilt action with swings and misses and weak ground balls. Arm works in the back with room to add more velocity and strength to his 5-foot-11, 170-pound frame.

PBR Georgia

2020 Dominic Teoli of ABC working 83-84 early on with late sinking action on FB. Mixes in SL at 69-71 with tilt that has generated swings and misses.

C Nicolas Deschamps (Quebec City) impressed behind the plate.

2020 Nicholas Deschamps (ABC), left-handed hitting catcher who has had a solid start at the plate this week. Shown ability to drive the ball across the diamond. Good job of keeping the barrel through the zone while he can throw from behind the dish and handles his arm very well.

PBR Georgia

2020 Nicolas Deschamps of ABC put together good swings today. Has shown pop and ability to use the whole field this week and will stay behind the plate.

2021 Louis Philippe Langevin closed out the 9-1 win for ABC today as the uncommitted 2021 right-hander was loose and easy with compact actions on the mound as the fastball worked 83-85 while he flashed his curve ball in the low 70’s with depth and downward action. Will be a member of the Canadian Futures team next week and a definite guy coaches need to be on from up north.

PBR Georgia

2021 RHP Louis Philippe Langevin shuts the door for ABC 16u as they collect their 2nd win this week. Easy, compact arm & delivery. FB 83-85, CB low 70s with spin and depth.

Emilien Pitre (Repentigny, Que.) impressed at the PBR 16U national championship.

2021 Emilien Pitre (ABC) is a left-handed hitting middle infielder, had multiple hits today and was a 4.15 down the line on an infield hit. It’s a simple, line drive approach with bat to ball skills. Scored from first on a ball in the gap and was moving around the bases. Body will fill out and add strength which will help Pitre drive the ball with more juice down the road.

PBR Georgia

2020 INF Emilion Pitre of ABC getting down the line for his 2nd hit of the day. 4.15 out the box.

2022 OF Joshua Jones (ABC) had himself a day, collecting 3 hits, along with a double down left-field line. The body is going to grow and get stronger, and there is some feel for the barrel in the box. Young and time on his side, Jones is a guy to watch out for north of the border.

PBR Georgia

2022 OF Joshua Jones of ABC with an RBI 2B down the line. Barreled up line drive for an out in his 1st at-bat of the day as well.

And in the 17U grouping ...

Uncommitted 2020 Cedric De Grandpre comes in and shuts the door for ABC as this game ends in a tie. FB 87-89. CB 73-75. Kid can flat out hit too

PBR Georgia

2020 Alfonso Villalobos of ABC stays hot, ripping a ball down the line.

Félix Robertson, a 5-foot-11, 185-pound outfielder came up big for Academy Baseball Canada in today’s game. He displayed bat control, the ability to keep his hands back and a fluid path through the hitting zone. He covers the strike zone well and is controlled with his body movements. The big hit for him today was a 2-run single that put ABC up by a large margin.

PBR Georgia

2020 Uncommitted Félix Robertson of the ABC drives in a pair with a hard-hit single.

2020 INF Benjamin Sauvé Gebhardt, a 2020 infielder performed well for ABC in today’s contest. His actions in the infield are clean, he stays low and behind the ball, positioning himself well. He was challenged on multiple occasions today, and he completed each one of his plays with accurate throws across. He led the game off with a single, standing out right away with his compact left-handed line-drive swing. He uses the middle of the field and moves well on the bases. Very interesting uncommitted infielder to keep an eye on.

PBR Georgia

2020 Benjamin Sauvé Gebhardt gets things going for ABC with a leadoff single.

2020 1B/3B Cédric De Grandpré (ABC), It’s been an outstanding week for De Grandpré so far offensively, and it didn’t stop today. With a sturdy build and bat speed from the right-side of the plate, De Grandpré’s raw power plays. In the sixth inning of today’s matchup, he took a pitch on the inner half 335 feet away to left-field, coming off the bat at 99 mph. He is a potential middle of the order type at the next level who can change the outcome of the game with one swing of the bat.

PBR Georgia

2020 Cédric De grandpré gives ABC a 2-0 lead with a home run going into the last half. 99 mph exit velocity on the 335 foot home run.

This was our first look at uncommitted 2020 RHP Matys Brochu (ABC). A solid righty, Brochu flashed a sharp breaking ball, and while he struggled to command it at times, it was a clear out pitch when he was able to locate it in the zone. His fastball ran up to 86 mph early, though he lived in the 82-84 range for the better part of the game. Brochu has a slender build, so there’s room to add size, but right now he’s something to dream on.

PBR Georgia

Uncommitted 2020 RHP Matys Brochu out of ABC with a solid two-pitch mix. Throws from a short arm slot, running his FB up to 86, sitting 82-85, very tight breaking ball.

2020 1B/3B Cedric De Grandpre (Academie Baseball Canada) is one of the better uncommitted bats in Canada in the 2020 class, De Grandpre found barrel with a hard single up the middle and shot to RCF. A sturdy 6-1, 192-pounds, he hits from a very simple approach, his timing is good, and he keeps the bat through the zone for an extended period of time. Extremely quiet, he’s been able to keep up with velo based on the bat speed he possesses and his ability to get on time with his slight leg-lift. Keep an eye on him, because there’s a good chance he hits all week in Georgia.

PBR Georgia

De Grandpre (ABC) finds barrel again, this time to RCF. Good looking swing, physical kid, uncommitted 2020.

2019 RHP Sebastien Simard (Academie Baseball Canada) took care of business in the opener for the lone Canadian team in the tournament. The uncommitted 6-2, 175-pound RHP threw a two-hitter in a five-inning shortened game. Simard pitches exclusively from the stretch, he was all over the zone with his FB sitting in the 81-84 mph range, while spinning a breaking ball at 71-73 mph.

PBR Georgia

Uncommitted 2019 Sebastian Simard out of ABC sitting 81-83MPH with a 71MPH CB.

INF Jeremy Hernandez-Martel (Montreal, Que.) knocked in three runs for the ABC.

2020 SS Jeremy Hernandez-Martel (Academie Baseball Canada) is a scrappy-type player, Martel played a big role in ABC’s win, accounting for three RBIs on a single and a sac fly, while also showing quick hands on the front end of two double plays. He tends to sit too far on his bag leg at times, but when he drives forward he shows the ability to hit line-drives all over the diamond. While he’s not overly physical, Martel finds ways to get the job done.

PBR Georgia

Hernandez-Martel comes through again for ABC with a two-RBI single to left, and ABC wins this one 8-0 over Sox Baseball.

3B Alfonso Villalobos (Kirkland, Que.)

2020 3B Alfonso Villalobos (Academie Baseball Canada) has been a hitter everywhere he’s gone. A stocky 5-10, 190-pounds, the uncommitted third-baseman showed some pop with hard barrel all over the field. He’s quiet at the plate and violent through his swing and shows power potential to his pull-side. Villalobos is the type of player that colleges should hunt for on their team, because he certainly helps the ball club win.

PBR Georgia

Uncommitted 2020 Alfonso Villalobos out of ABC launches a loud RBI double to left.
