Official Lindsey Wilson Athletics News Release

COLUMBIA, Ky. – Cohen Achen was selected in the 14th round of the Major League Baseball Draft on Tuesday.

The Calgary, Alta., native was selected with the 429th pick by the Baltimore Orioles.

"Words cannot express how happy I am for Cohen today," Lindsey Wilson baseball coach Ethan Utley said. "A four-year guy, that showed up, worked relentlessly hard every day, and was an unbelievable teammate, nobody deserves this opportunity more than him."

This past season, Achen was 5-5 making 12 starts with a 5.04 ERA in 64 1/3 innings pitched. He recorded 101 strikeouts this season and became the program's all-time leader in strikeouts in 2024. Achen became the first player in program history to record over 100 strikeouts in multiple seasons. He earned Mid-South Conference First Team honours this season.

Achen finished his Lindsey Wilson career with 341 strikeouts and ranks third in the program in career wins with 23.
