All-tourney honours for four Fieldhouse Pirates

OF Kenny Diclemente (Oakville, Ont.) of the Fieldhouse Pirates was one of four players to earn all-tourney honours at the Perfect Game Showdown-Academies in Cartersville, Ga.

Four Fieldhouse Pirates made the all-tournament team at the Perfect Game High School Showdown-Academies in Cartersville, Ga.

The Burlington-based team, coach by Jimmy Richardson, went 2-2 in the 16-team tourney.

OF Kenny Diclemente, C Thomas Harbour, C Tyler Wilson and RHP Zach Cameron all gained all-tourney honours.

Diclemente (Oakville, Ont.) hit .462 (6-for-13) with a pair of doubles and a 1.115 OPS. 

Harbour (Oakville, Ont.) batted .667 (3-for-5) driving in a run and sporting a 1.267 OPS.

Wilson (Mount Hope, Ont.) hit .375 (3-for-8) with a double and an RBI, finishing with  an .875 OPS.

Cameron (Hamilton, Ont.) worked four scoreless, allowing three hits, while striking out a total of seven.

Central Pointe Christian Academy 7 Fieldhouse Pirates 1
Matthew Nolin (Mississauga, Ont.) pitched six innings in a loss to Central Pointe Christian of Kissimmee, Fla. Nolin threw 95 pitches allowing four runs on seven hits and three walks, while fanning two. His fastball was clocked at 83 MPH. 

The Pirates came into the tourney with Nolin as the top prospect. With  a highly projectable 6-foot-4, 188-pound frame, he had recently impressed at the PG West MLK Underclass tournament, where he topped out at 84 mph and has a 

CF Matt McEachern (Burlington, Ont.) doubled for the Pirates, while Brett Graham (Burlington, Ont.), 1B Stefan Mielzynski (Freelton, Ont.) and Tyler Wilson (Mount Hope, Ont.) had the other hits.

Field House Pirates 8, SBO Team Underclass 0
Zach Cameron (Hamilton, Ont.) and Bryce Arnold (Grimsby, Ont.) combined on a three-hit shut out as the Pirates beat SRO from Puerto Rico. Cameron allowed three hits, while striking out seven in his four innings of work, with his fastball clocked from 79-to-85. Arnold struck out two of three in his one 17-pitch inning.

LF Thomas Harbour (Oakville, Ont.) had a pair of hits, while Kenny Diclemente (Oakville, Ont.), RF Tanner Hodgson (Burrlington, Ont.), 1B Hayden Zweig (Oakville, Ont.), 3B Tyler Wilson (Mount Hope, Ont), C Brett Graham, and CF Matt McEachern had the other hits. Diclemente and Graham each doubles and drove in two runs,, while Wilson and Harbour had the other RBIs.

The win moved the Pirates record to 1-1.


Fieldhouse 11, Dux by TSD 7
Brayden Wilson (Burlington, Ont.) singled home two runs in the top of the 10th as Fieldhouse edged Dux by TSD of Cayey, Puerto Rico 11-7. Matt McEachern knocked in another run, while the other run scored on a wild pitch.
 
Alex Mitton (Hamilton, Ont.) worked his third inning, this one scoreless, for the win. He allowed three unearned runs on four hits and a walk, while fanning two. His best fastball was 84 MPH. The Pirates and Dux combined to score 10 runs after the seventh.

3B Kenny Diclemente had two hits including a double, while Wilson had a pair of hits. C Alex Pallottii (Burlington, Ont.), 2B Brett Graham, 1B Stefan Mielzynski and DH Zach Cameron had the other hits.

Spencer Kauer (Etobicoke, Ont.) started and allowed four runs on four hits and a walk in 2 1/3 innings as he fanned four. He three 52 pitches and his best fastball was 87 MPH. Next was Charlie Lisac (Burlington, Ont.), who pitched 2 2/3 scoreless. He allowed one hit and walked two while throwing 32 pitches as he threw 80 MPH.


SBO Florida 5, Fieldhouse 4
3B Kenny Diclemente was 3-for-3 and drove in a run, while 1B Stefan Mielzynski doubled and LF Tanner Hodgson drove inn a run in a one-run loss to SBO from West Palm Beach. The other hits went to CF Owen Caissie (Burllington, Ont.) and DH Thomas Harbour.

Matt Nolin started pitching four innings allowing four runs -- one earned on one hit. He threw 87 pitches and was clocked at 87 MPH.

Harbour led Pirates hitters with a .600 average with one RBI, while Diclemente led in hits going 6-for-13 (.462) and Wilson was next at .400 (2-for-5).
