Official National Baseball Hall of Fame News Release

(COOPERSTOWN, NY) – Jane Forbes Clark, Chairman of the Board of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, announced that the Board of Directors met today and has accepted Roberto Alomar’s resignation as a member of the Board. Alomar, who submitted a letter of resignation to the Hall of Fame’s Board of Directors on Saturday, had been elected to the Board in July 2019.

Alomar’s plaque will remain on display in the Hall of Fame in recognition of his accomplishments in the game, as his enshrinement reflects his eligibility and the perspective of the BBWAA voters at that time. When he was elected to the Hall of Fame by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America in the Class of 2011, he was an eligible candidate in good standing.
