The Canadian Junior National Team dropped their spring opener 10-1 to a team of Detroit Tigers prospects at the Walter Fuller Complex at St. Petersburg, Fla., on Friday.

But there were still plenty of standout performances by national team members. Jaden Griffin (Lower Sackville, N.S.) was dominant on the mound, striking out four in two scoreless innings, while Noah Naylor (Mississauga, Ont.) went 2-for-3 with a double. Cesar Valero (Calgary, Alta.) also doubled for the Canadian squad.
