Maybe someone has had better weeks, but has anyone had a better season?
He has been at all three levels and pitched well.
After starting the season at class-A Florida State League he moved to the Double-A Eastern League and then was promoted to the triple-A International League.
And with three scoreless innings this week he -- Andrew Case (St. John, NB) -- was the Canadian Baseball Network minor league Canadian player of the week for Week XXI.
The Prairie Baseball Academy alum didn’t move from spring training ... staying in Dunedin and going 3-1 with a 4.42 ERA in 14 games. He picked up four saves while walking three and fanning 17 in 18 1/3 innings.
Then, he was promoted to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats and then the Buffalo Bison, where he appeared in four games with a 5.87 ERA walking three and striking out three in 7 2/3 innings. His final outing was against triple-A Louisville Bats 10 games ago where he allowed one run in 1 2/3 innings.
Returning to New Hampshire he has worked 9 2/3 innings in nine games allowing three earned runs (2.89). With the Fisher Cats this scoreless week leaves him at 4-0 with a 1.67 ERA in 30 games. He has walked nine and struck out 22 in 37 2/3 innings, while picking up eight saves.
On the season at his three different levels in the Toronto Blue Jays organization he is 7-1 with 12 saves and a 2.97 ERA in 48 games. On the season he has walked 15 and struck out 42 in 63 2/3 innings.

Andrew Case has had an excellent season thus far, playing in the Blue Jays system at three different levels, including Single A Dunedin, Double A New Hampshire and a brief stint at Triple A with the Buffalo Bisons. Currently the closer at New Hampshire he made two appearances this week, the first on Aug. 24th in a 4-3 12-inning loss to the Hartford Yard Goats. He threw two scoreless innings gave up two base hits and while striking out three Hartford batters, but was not involved in the decision. On Aug 26th in a 2-0 win over Hartford he pitched one scoreless inning, gave up one base hit while striking out one hitter to record his eighth save of the year. His record with the Fisher Cats in the Eastern League in thirty appearances improved to 4-0 with eighth save and an outstanding ERA of 1.67. His overall record for the 2017 season including his stints at Dunedin and Buffalo in a total of 48 relief appearances, now stands at 7-1 with 12 saves and a 2.99 ERA. These numbers would indicate quite clearly that Andrew Case at only 24 years of age, certainly has a bright future in the Toronto Blue Jays organization.
