Babcock's arrival helps Judson earn top recruiting class honours

Team Ontario Astros 1B Jordan Babcock (Markham, Ont.) helped moved the Judson Eagles atop the NAIA recruiting class, according to Perfect Game.

Elgin, Ill. –The Judson University program looks to continue its prominence in the CCAC and the NAIA as the Eagles will bring in the NAIA’s top recruiting class this fall according to perfectgame.com.

The recruiting class includes 10 nationally-ranked high school players including Canadian first baseman Jordan Babcock (Markham, Ont.), and local left-handed pitching prospect Kyle Crosby (Bartlett, IL). The Eagles are bringing in 25 new players, in addition to 15 returners, this year after a 21-player graduating class in the spring.

“We are very excited and fortunate to have our 2018 recruiting class coming into the Judson University Baseball program,” said Associate coach Mike Guilfoyle. “It was extremely important to our program to not only bring in highly recruited and talented players, but also athletes who are good people and are looking to achieve on and off the baseball field. It has been the foundation to what we believe has been our continued success. We placed an importance on those values in selecting this recruiting class, which we believe will compete and continue our run of conference titles and have national success.”

Judson University has won a total of 10 CCAC conference regular season or tournament championships including nine in the last seven years. The Eagles will look to advance to the NAIA National Tournament for the fourth consecutive year in 2019.
