BARRIE - The Barrie Baycats Baseball Club have signed outfielder Noel McGarry-Doyle for the 2021 season.

McGarry-Doyle, 19, played his travel ball career with the Toronto Mets program before committing to Southeastern Community College for his freshman season in college.

The 6-foot-3 200 pound left-hander has spent time with the Canadian National Junior team, notably playing against the Toronto Blue Jays in their annual spring-training game in 2019.

The Vaughan, Ontario native took part in the Toronto Blue Jays' Tournament 12 tournament in 2018.

Baycats Manager Josh Matlow said he is thrilled to have signed a player with McGarry-Doyle's upside.

“Noel is a large, young athlete with a lot of strength and power. With his Team Canada experience, we feel Noel can be an impact player in 2021. We look forward to adding his depth to the outfield and look forward to having him grow into the Baycats system."

McGarry-Doyle says he is looking forward to a summer of high-quality baseball with the Baycats.

"I’m very excited for the upcoming season with the Baycats where I can show off my talent and work on my craft over the summer.”
