OTTAWA – Baseball Canada is currently accepting bids from communities/committees interested in hosting the 2021 22U Men’s National Championships.

Baseball Canada’s Board of Directors recently accepted a proposal from the Championship Committee to move the 21U Men’s National Championship to a 22U event for a three-year (2021-2023) period during which time the following data would be collected:

-Number of Provinces participating under the new formula.

-Evaluate/track numbers of all 4 ages within this new age system (19-22).

-Number of applications to host a 22U Championship.

A further change of significance to the event would see the competition begin on the first Thursday in August to address the issue of the tournament “conflicting with the re-opening of the American College school year”.

Bids for the 2021 22U Men’s National Championships are currently being accepted up to and including August 31, 2020.

Interested parties are asked to complete the National Championships “Request for Proposal” form that can be found here.

Further inquires can be sent to Michel Landriault, Coach, Umpire, Programs and Championships services coordinator via e-mail at mlandriault@baseball.ca.
