OTTAWA – Baseball Canada would like to announce that Chris Balison has resigned from the position of Baseball Canada president due to personal and professional reasons.
Balison, of Kamloops, BC, was elected as Baseball Canada president in January of this year.
“Recent and unexpected opportunities changed the commitments, priorities, and obligations in my professional and personal life,” said Balison.
“I am grateful for the privilege of working with dedicated and motivated people who share important values and a forward-looking vision to modernize the governance and administration of our sport.”
“We’d like to thank Chris for his service to Baseball Canada not only in the president’s role but as a member of Baseball Canada’s Board of Directors from 2020 to 2022,” said Baseball Canada CEO Jason Dickson. “We wish Chris the best in his future pursuits and know that he will still find ways to positively impact amateur baseball in Canada.”
During his time with Baseball Canada, Balison played a significant role in hiring the national federation’s first-ever CEO which led to Dickson being named to the position in July 2021.
Baseball Canada’s Executive Team of vice president Jean Boulais and Treasurer Ken Sharpe will assume presidential duties until a new president is determined.
