OTTAWA – Baseball Canada is pleased to announce the names of the 30 athletes who’ve been invited to attend the Junior National Team’s Pre-MLB Draft Training Camp based in Dunedin, Fla., from May 31 to June 11.

With the annual Major League Baseball Draft set for July 17 to 19, Junior National Team players will have the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of evaluators against professional competition.

The juniors will play seven games against Florida Complex League (FCL) squads from the Toronto Blue Jays, Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies organizations while also competing in intersquad games and workouts at the Toronto Blue Jays’ state-of-the-art Player Development Complex in Dunedin.

“We’re fortunate and grateful to have the support of the Toronto Blue Jays in allowing our program to train at their Player Development Complex in Dunedin,” said Head Coach and Director of National Teams Greg Hamilton. “This camp will expose our players to high-level competition that will aid in their athletic development while also providing an environment for talent evaluation by our coaching staff and professional scouts.”

Coaches joining Hamilton on the coaching staff include Rob Ducey, Scott Mathieson, Les McTavish, Pete Orr and Andy Stewart.

All players invited to camp have participated in the Junior National Team program this spring.
