St. Louis, Mo. – Central Baptist College’s Austin Teal (Player) and William Woods University’s Max Benton (Pitcher) have been selected as the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Baseball Players of the Week.

They were selected from nominees submitted by each institution based on their performance from Feb. 19-25 and chosen through a vote of Sports Information Directors from around the AMC.

AMC Baseball Player of the Week

Austin Teal, Central Baptist

Sr. | Brinkley, Ark.

-Hit .467 (7-15) with six singles, one double, and five RBIs.

-Went 1-3 with one single in the Mustangs’ 3-2 win against Wiley (Texas).

-Went 3-5 with a double, three stolen bases, and two RBIs in Central Baptist’s 9-6 win vs. Wiley (Texas).

-Went 1-2 with two walks and two stolen bases in Mustangs’ 8-2 win against Wiley (Texas).

-Added two hits and three RBIs in Central Baptist’s 12-5 win vs. Wiley (Texas).

-Finished the week with .467 batting average and .529 on base percentage.

-First Baseball Player of the Week honor.

Other Notable Performances:

-Skylar Morrison, Williams Baptist– Hit three homeruns this week in four games for the Eagles.

AMC Baseball Pitcher of the Week

Jr. | Clyde River, Prince Edward Island.

-Started one game for the Owls’ and threw a complete game.

-Threw seven innings and had six strikeouts while only giving up six hits in Owls’ 5-2 win vs. Mission University.

-Ended the week with a 2.57 ERA, 0.86 WHIP, and 7.71 K/9.

Other Notable Performances:

Gram Middleton, Central Baptist– Ended with 10 strikeouts in the Mustangs’ 8-2 win vs. Wiley (Texas).
