Best of COBA Week IV: Dewolfe, Erindale Cardinals, MacKillop

Milton Red Sox starter Tyler MacKillop earned pitcher of the week honours after he pitched seven solid innings — allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits. He walked two while striking out five as well.

The COBA Major Week IV POWs and Team of the Week:

Erindale Cardinals John Dewolfe was the COBA Player of the Week


The COBA Major Zero K Bats Player of the Week is John Dewolfe of the Erindale Cardinals.

This is the first weekly award for the veteran OF this year. For his week, he played two games, batting .778 (7-for-9) with a double. He scored five runs, collected eight RBIs and had a stolen base.

For the season, Dewolfe is now hitting at a .474 clip (9-for-19) over the club’s first six games. He has a double, while scoring six runs and driving in eight. He also has two walks and a stolen base.

The COBA Major Sam Bat Pitcher of the week is Tyler MacKillop of the Milton Red Sox.

The veteran hurler takes down this honour for the first time this season. In his only appearance this week, he collected the win as he tossed seven innings allowing three runs (two earned) on just four hits. He walked two while striking out five.

On the season, MacKillop is now 1-0. He has thrown 12 innings and allowed nine runs (eight earned) on nine hits for a 6.00 ERA. He has walked only seven batters while striking out nine.

The COBA Major Zingers Bats Team of the Week are the Erindale Cardinals.

The Cards had two games this week and collected a pair of wins. They defeated the Brampton Royals at home by a score of 16-8 and followed that up with a road win in Oakville by a score of 19-6.

With the wins, Erindale now sits at 5-1 on the season good for 10 points overall and are currently in second place in the overall COBA Major League standings.

Milton Red Sox: 1-1 (W 8-4 vs Brampton, L 13-6 @ Etobicoke)
