Big offensive innings and strong pitching performances led the Terriers 15U team to their first tournament championship of the season.
After a 2-1 round-robin record, the 15U’s reeled off three straight elimination game wins to claim the Cincy Flames tournament.
Five runs in the first and seventh innings helped the team to an 11-5 quarterfinal win over the Ironmen Prime.
Right-hander Lucas Meden threw a complete game to earn the victory. Meden allowed five runs (three earned) on seven hits. He walked two and struck out two.
Offensively, Sebastian Stillo went 3-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs. Lincoln Rose, Brett Crowley and Jack Hatton all had two hits, with Hatton driving in four runs.
The Terriers would see the Indiana Bulls in the semifinal, a game they would win 9-3.
Stiaan Henning set the tone on the mound with six innings of work. Henning surrendered two runs on five hits and three walks. He struck out three.
Aaron Clawsie put together a 3-for-3 game with an RBI and a hit by pitch as the Terriers scored four in the second and four in the third. Meden, Spillo and Derek Spiske chipped in two hits apiece.
Crowley got the ball in the final against the Yard Goats and threw a complete game. The southpaw navigated around nine hits in a 7-3 win. He didn’t walk a batter and fanned eight.
The lineup had yet another productive inning in the fourth as they scored four runs to help seal the championship win.
