The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired RHP Jeremy Beasley from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for cash considerations.

To clear a spot on the team's 40-man roster, RHP Thomas Hatch (right elbow impingement) has been transferred to the 60-day injured list.

A 30th-round draft pick of the Los Angeles Angels in 2017, Beasley, 25, has pitched to an ERA of 4.10 with 256 strikeouts and 92 walks in 265 2/3 professional innings. Of his 68 appearances, 43 have come as a starter.

In his last full season prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 6-foot-3 product of Albany, Ga., went 6-7 with an overall WHIP of 1.399 through 23 games with the double-A Mobile Bay Bears in 2019.

Sidelined with elbow and forearm discomfort on March 17, Hatch will be ineligible to rejoin the team until mid-June.

Beasley will join the squad at Toronto's alternate training site in Dunedin.
