Official Toronto Blue Jays News Release

The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired RHP Adam Cimber, OF Corey Dickerson, and cash considerations from the Miami Marlins in exchange for INF Joe Panik and RHP Andrew McInvale.

Dickerson will be placed on the 10-day injured list (left foot contusion). To make room on the on the 40-man roster, LHP Travis Bergen has been designated for assignment.

Cimber, 30, has kept a 2.88 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP across 33 relief appearances for the Marlins this season. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound right-hander pitched for Cleveland in 2020, going 0-1 with a 3.97 ERA. The Portland, Ore., native is in his fourth Major League season and holds a 3.69 ERA and a .259 opponents’ batting average across 185 appearances.

Dickerson, 32, slashed .260/.321/.377 with 12 doubles, three triples, two home runs, and 14 RBI before landing on the injured list on June 15 with a left foot contusion. The left-handed hitting product of Meridian Community College (MS) was named an All-Star while with the Rays in 2017 and claimed a Gold Glove Award while roaming the outfield for the Pirates in 2018. Over the course of his nine Major League campaigns, Dickerson has hit .282 with 207 doubles, 33 triples, 124 home runs, and 401 RBI while playing for the Rockies, Rays, Pirates, Phillies, and Marlins.

Panik, 30, has batted .246 with six doubles and a pair of home runs in 42 games for Toronto this season. The Yonkers, N.Y., native joined the Blue Jays prior to the 2020 season and hit .235 over 83 contests while spending time at first, second, third, and shortstop. The 2014 World Series champion and 2015 All-Star owns a .268 average with 133 doubles, 19 triples, and 41 home runs over eight Major League seasons.

McInvale, 24, was selected by Toronto in the 37th round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft and played in seven Rookie-level games that season, going 1-0 with a 6.35 ERA. The native of Austin, Tex., has pitched in 15 games this year with class-A Advanced Vancouver and double-A New Hampshire, combining for a 2.55 ERA and .169 opponents’ average.
