In Game 6 of the season, Marcus Stroman continued his strong start to the season but two runs were too many as the Jays' offence continued to sputter in a 2-1 loss to the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday.

Stroman worked five scoreless innings to give him 12 to start the season but he allowed two hits in each of the third and the fourth, getting a double play in the third and a pick off at second base in the fourth to get out of trouble.

Stroman opened the sixth with a single, a triple and another single, scoring two runs for the Orioles before he got a double play ball to get two outs. After walking Joey Rickard, Tim Mayza came on to get Chris Davis on a fly out. Mayza retired the side in the seventh, striking out one and Daniel Hudson got a 1-2-3 eighth, getting three fly balls. Javy Guerra came on in the ninth, striking out Rio Ruiz to start the inning but a fan interfered with a ball off of Joey Rickard's bat and he got himself a double on the fan interference. Chris Davis was intentionally walked and then Guerra got a strikeout and a line out to end the ninth.

The only run the Blue Jays scored was a solo home run by Rowdy Tellez who now leads the Jays with two home runs on the young season. The Jays had just six hits including a single from Brandon Drury, two singles from Justin Smoak and singles from Freddy Galvis and Richard Urena who appears to be getting more playing after Lourdes Gurriel has made some bad throws from second base. Tellez was 1/3 with a walk and a home run and Teoscar Hernandez walked twice.

Matt Shoemaker goes for win number two as the Jays face the Orioles at 4:07 pm on Thursday to finish up the opening home stand.
