Blue Jays' home opener set for Monday at newly renovated Rogers Centre

Baseball is back, Canada!

The Toronto Blue Jays return home to the newly renovated Rogers Centre featuring the all-new 100 level seating bowl designed specifically for baseball viewing, on Monday, April 8 for the Home Opener presented by TD, vs. the Seattle Mariners (7:07 p.m.).

Monday begins a nine-game homestand where fans can experience the newly renovated ballpark for the first time, as well as enjoy seven giveaways and theme days, including Loonie Dogs Night presented by Schneiders (April 9 and 16), new Work From Dome 3:07 p.m. weekday games (April 10 and 17), and José Berríos Gold Glove Bobblehead giveaway (April 12).

Whether attending the Home Opener or watching from home, fans will be treated to a special pregame ceremony airing on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+, preceded by a one-hour special edition of Blue Jays Central, live from Rogers Centre starting at 6 p.m. ET. Fans can also listen to the game live on the Sportsnet Radio Network and the Sportsnet App.

Blue Jays Home Opener presented by TD

-ACE joins Mayor Olivia Chow at City Hall at 9 a.m. on Monday to raise the Blue Jays flag and officially welcome baseball back to the city.

-Fans attending the Home Opener are encouraged to arrive early for opening ceremonies featuring special presentations and 225 Canadian military members carrying the Canadian flag in the outfield. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.

-All fans attending the Home Opener will receive a Blue Jays Rally Towel giveaway at their seats and a Blue Jays Magnet Schedule on exit, both presented by TD.

Homestand Highlights (April 8 to 17)

-The first homestand of the season includes two Loonie Dogs Nights presented by Schneiders (April 9 and 16). This season features 13 Tuesday home games, and each one is sure to be a hot dog extravaganza. Can fans beat last season's record-breaking 693,865-dollar dogs?

-Fans will be treated to two weekday afternoon games this homestand (Wednesday, April 10 and Wednesday, April 17; both 3:07 p.m.). Bring the office to the ballpark, play hooky with friends, or simply enjoy a weekday afternoon at the ballpark during Work From Dome. Group purchases have the option to add a Blue Jays-branded office item to complete the ultimate Work From Dome experience.

-Friday, April 12 is the first bobblehead giveaway of the season where the first 15,000 fans receive a José Berríos Gold Glove Bobblehead. Fans in attendance will have a chance to get a photo pregame with the Gold Glove trophy at gate 9A.

-Friday’s game also introduces the first Fry Days with McCain, taking place at all 13 Friday home games and featuring a specialty loaded fry recipe served with McCain's Extra Crispy fries in a reusable Blue Jays helmet.

-Mark your calendars for Jays Opening Day on Sunday, April 14. Kids 14 and under can take part in games and activities in Jr. Jays Zones around the ballpark, including TD Park Social in the Outfield District. Fans can reserve a postgame time for their Jr. Jays to run the bases, with Jr. Jays Club All-Star Members receiving first access to registration. For more information, visit bluejays.com/jrjaysclub.

-The AL-East rival New York Yankees make their first trip north of the border on Jackie Robinson Night (Monday, April 15). The Blue Jays will join all of MLB in honouring the legacy of Jackie Robinson during this game, including players and coaches wearing Robinson’s number 42. The first 15,000 fans at Rogers Centre on Monday night will receive a Blue Jays Jackie Robinson ‘42’ Hat. Fans in attendance will be able to explore Jackie Robinson and Negro League memorabilia at gate 9A courtesy of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.
