While it's becoming a bit of a repeated trope in Blue Jays Land, the Jays couldn't find the handle on their offense, squandering a strong start by Marcus Stroman in a 3-1 loss to the Cleveland Indians.

Stroman was solid on the mound, tossing six innings and giving up three runs on six hits with just one walk with six strikeouts, getting seven outs on the ground and four on fly balls. Tim Mayza had a good outing, retiring all three batters he faced, striking out two and Ken Giles, used in a non-save situation (because if the Jays saved him only for those elusive situations, he'd rarely pitch), retired the side in order, striking out one in the eighth.

The Jays had just one run and three hits, getting their only run in the eighth after Billy McKinney led off with a double and Richard Urena followed with a walk. Danny Jansen came to the plate and hit an RBI single. Jansen and McKinney were 1/3 while team slugger Freddy Galvis was 1/4 with a double.

The Blue Jays head to Boston for a two-game set starting Tuesday with Matt Shoemaker on the mound.
