Ahead of kicking off a pivotal three-game set against the New York Yankees in Buffalo, the Toronto Blue Jays have placed OF Teoscar Hernandez (oblique) and RHP Wilmer Font (shin) on the 10-day injured list.

Completing the series of moves, RHP Sean Reid-Foley and OF Jonathan Davis have been called up from the club's taxi squad and will be available for Monday night's game at Sahlen Field.

In 39 contests this season, Hernandez has hit .308 with an OPS of .995 through 159 plate appearances. As of Monday, his 14 home runs were good for the second-most in the American League behind Mike Trout (15), while the 27-year-old's slugging percentage of .637 was the fifth-highest in Major League Baseball.

Though Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo told reporters that he's feeling better today, the club is waiting for Hernandez's swelling to go down before he can have a second MRI in order to determine the extent of the injury.

In three relief appearances this season, Reid-Foley has allowed just one hit while striking out six and walking a pair. Monday's promotion marks his third stint with the Major League squad in 2020.

Davis, 26, rejoins the Blue Jays after slashing .185/.264/.259 across 57 games over the last two seasons. A strong defender, the 5-foot-8 product of Camden, Ark., ranks among the games best in sprint speed (83rd percentile), per Baseball Savant.

Through 17 appearances this season, Font, who was hit by a comebacker off the bat of Jackie Bradley Jr. in yesterday's 10-8 win over the Boston Red Sox, has posted an ERA of 8.78 while allowing an opponent's batting average of .373 across 13.1 frames.
