Lifted after making an out at third base during the fifth inning of Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Houston Astros, Blue Jays catcher Danny Jansen was placed on the 10-day injured with a mild hamstring strain on Tuesday.

In a corresponding roster move, C Riley Adams has been recalled from triple-A Buffalo.

Adams, 24, is ranked as the club's No. 18 prospect and has slashed .250/.410/.600 with eight extra-base hits in 60 at-bats during his first year in triple-A.

Those totals include a recent hot streak in which the former third-round draft pick (2017) has hit .400 (10-for-25) with five walks and four home runs in his last 10 games.

In 42 appearances prior to Sunday's injury, Jansen was slashing .157/.248/.278 with 31 strikeouts against only 12 walks across 122 plate appearances. His current IL stint is retroactive to June 7, which means he will be eligible to return when the club is in Baltimore for a series starting on June 18.
