TORONTO -- Interim closer Ryan Tepera became the latest Blue Jay to land on the disabled list after being diagnosed with right elbow inflammation early Saturday morning.

In a corresponding move, RHP Jake Petricka has been recalled from triple-A Buffalo and will be available out of the Blue Jays' bullpen when the club squares off against Detroit later today.

Over 20 innings with the triple-A Bisons in 2018, Petricka has posted an ERA of 0.90 with 13 strikeouts against only four walks.

This is the third time Petricka has been recalled from the minors since joining the Blue Jays organization last February. In nine appearances with Toronto, the 6-foot-5 product of Northfield, Minn., has allowed five earned runs on 18 hits while striking out six and stranding eight of the nine inherited runners he's been tasked with.

Named as Toronto's closer in the wake of Roberto Osuna's domestic violence allegations, Tepera ranks 12th among all MLB relievers in appearances this season with 38, and departs the club having posted an overall ERA of 2.97 supported by a K/9 of 9.8 through 39 1/3 innings.

Tepera's DL stint is of the 10-game variety and is retroactive to June 28th.
