Four days after celebrating his return to active duty by being shipped off to triple-A Buffalo, right-handed reliever Leonel Campos has rejoined the Toronto Blue Jays bullpen ahead of their mid-week series against the New York Yankees at Rogers Centre.

In a corresponding move, fellow righty Cesar Valdez has been placed on the 10-day DL with what the club is calling a right shoulder impingement.

Campos, 29, has pitched to an overall ERA of 2.08 with 10 strikeouts against only three walks in 8 2/3 innings with the Blue Jays this season.

A victim of both injury (groin) and options remaining on his contract, Monday's recall will mark the Venezuela native's sixth individual stint with the Blue Jays in 2017.

Having most recently appeared out of the starting rotation, Valdez, 32, has pitched in seven games with the Blue Jays while posting an ERA of 6.75 with a WHIP of 1.594 over 21 1/3 frames.

Prior to Tuesday's announcement, Valdez was scheduled to start Wednesday against the Bombers. No replacement has been announced yet, though (barring a bullpen day) a couple of options potential include current Bisons Nick Tepesch and Brett Oberholtzer.
