The Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to terms with RHP Yimi García on a two-year contract (US $15,000,000).
García, 34, pitched for both the Blue Jays and the Seattle Mariners in 2024, combining to post a 3.46 ERA across 39 outings with a 0.90 WHIP, a .167 opponent AVG, a 7.8% walk rate, and a 32% strikeout rate, while picking up five saves.
The native of Moca, Dominican Republic, returns to the Blue Jays after making 163 appearances for the club across three seasons from 2022 to 2024, going 10-9 with a 3.44 ERA and a 27.8% strikeout rate.
Over 10 major league seasons, the 6-foot-1, 230-pound right-hander owns a 3.59 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP in 414 appearances with the Dodgers, Marlins, Astros, Blue Jays, and Mariners.
Additionally, C Nick Raposo has been designated for assignment.
