In advance of their series finale against Tampa Bay, the Toronto Blue Jays have reinstated infielder Brandon Drury from the injured list while reassigning outfielder Billy McKinney to the club's alternate training site.

Throughout 120 games with Toronto in 2019, Drury slashed .218/.262/.380 with 37 extra-base hits and 43 runs scored on the season. Primarily appearing at third base since joining the Blue Jays following a trade with the New York Yankees in July of 2018, the 27-year-old product of Garth Pass, Ore., has also seen time at first base, second base, shortstop and left field. His addition to the active roster gives manager Charlie Montoyo added defensive flexibility late in games, while also supplying some right-handed pop late in the batting order.

Acquired from the Yankees in the same deal that netted Drury two summers ago, McKinney hit .215 with 27 extra-base hits throughout 251 at-bats with Toronto last year. Those numbers included an impressive final week of September that saw the corner outfielder slash .278/.350/.778 and knock three home runs in 18 at-bats.

Unlike fellow outfielders Anthony Alford, Teoscar Hernandez, and Derek Fisher, McKinney entered the 2020 campaign with options remaining on his contract, making him the odd man out when it came time for the club's first official regular-season roster transaction.

The Blue Jays 30-man active roster now consists of 15 pitchers, two catchers, eight infielders, and five outfielders.
