Official Toronto Blue Jays News Release

The Toronto Blue Jays have reinstated RHP Nate Pearson from the 10-day injured list (right adductor strain) and optioned him to the club’s alternate training site.

Pearson will travel to Trenton, N.J., with the triple-A Buffalo Bisons.

Ranked as the Blue Jays’ top pitching prospect, the 6-foot-6 right-hander has been sidelined since early in spring training. The 24-year-old Pearson, the Blue Jays’ first-round pick in 2017, got his first taste of big league action in 2020 when he posted a 1-0 record and 6.00 ERA in five appearances, including four starts.

He was lights out in his only postseason appearance, striking out five batters and not allowing a hit in two innings in relief in the second game of the Blue Jays’ Wild Card series against the Tampa Bay Rays.
