Official Toronto Blue Jays News Release

The Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to terms with RHP Chad Green on a two-year contract (US $8,500,000) with options for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.

Green, 31, posted a 3.00 ERA in 2022 but was limited to 14 appearances with the New York Yankees as he was sidelined in May with a season-ending right elbow injury.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound righty set personal bests in 2021 with 10 wins, 67 games, and 83 2/3 innings pitched while keeping a 3.12 ERA and a 0.80 WHIP.

Green was drafted by the Detroit Tigers out of the University of Louisville in 2013 and made his debut with the Yankees in 2016. Over the course of seven Major League seasons, the native of Greenville, S.C., boasts a 3.17 ERA while holding a 33-22 career record.

To make room on the 40-man roster, LHP Matt Gage has been designated for assignment.
