The Toronto Blue Jays and free-agent lefty Tommy Milone are in agreement on a one-year, minor-league deal that includes an invite to big league camp this spring.

Milone, 34, is a veteran of 10 MLB seasons dating back to 2011, and owns an overall ERA of 4.56 with 688 strikeouts against 218 walks through his 913 2/3 innings.

Of Milone's 183 appearances at the major league level, 145 have come as a starter. That total includes all nine of his assignments, split between Atlanta and Baltimore in 2020, a season that saw the 6-foot product of Saugus, Calif., allow 29 earned runs on 55 hits in 39 innings.

Following ace Hyun-Jin Ryu, the Blue Jays’ starting rotation currently includes Robbie Ray, Tanner Roark and Nate Pearson.

Milone is expected to join Jacob Waguespack, Julian Merryweather, Anthony Kay, T.J. Zeuch and Ryan Borucki in competition for the final starting role this spring.
