The Toronto Blue Jays completed a pair of transactions on Tuesday, signing 1B Tyler White and OF Forest Wall to minor league deals.
White, 30, has appeared in parts of four major league seasons, posting an overall slash line of .236/.315/.409 with 77 extra-base hits across 256 games. The former 33rd round draft pick is two seasons removed from notching an OPS of .888 through 66 games as a member of the American League West leading Houston Astros. During that campaign, 27 of the right-handed hitting first baseman’s 58 hits came on the road.
Through parts of six pro seasons, Wall, 25, has slashed a combined .274/.353/.409 with 122 stolen bases in 174 overall attempts. The left-handed swinging outfielder amassed an OPS of .772 across 469 plate appearances with the double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats in his last full season (2019) prior to the pandemic. A first-round pick of the Colorado Rockies in 2014 (33rd overall), Wall was part of the deal that sent RHP Seung-Hwan Oh to the Rockies in July of 2018.
Both players have been invited to big league camp next spring.
