Blue Jays to debut City Connect uniforms on Friday

The Toronto Blue Jays return to the city on Friday, May 31 for a seven-game homestand that begins with the highly anticipated debut of the first-ever Blue Jays City Connect uniform, which will be worn by players during Friday’s game (7:07 p.m. vs. the Pittsburgh Pirates).

The action is part of City Connect Week, which features two special City Connect giveaways for the first 15,000 fans on June 3 and 5.

The new uniform will be unveiled on Blue Jays social media channels in the evening of Thursday, May 30, followed by media availabilities and a release party in downtown Toronto.

With the homestand running through June 6, there’s lots for fans to enjoy at the ballpark starting Friday:

-Friday, May 31 leads off City Week with the first on-field appearance of the new Blue Jays City Connect uniform, as well as a special first pitch. Starting Friday at 8 a.m., fans can get outfitted in City Connect merchandise exclusively in-store from Jays Shop – including a special pop-up location near Gate 8 – and merchandise kiosks at Rogers Centre.

-City Week continues all week with City Connect activations throughout the ballpark. Monday, June 3 (7:07 p.m.) includes a one-of-a-kind Vladimir Guerrero Jr. City Connect Bobblehead giveaway, with Vladdy rocking the new uniform. Wednesday’s game (June 5; 7:07 p.m.) features a Blue Jays City Connect Backpack – perfect for Torontonians. The new City Connect uniform will be worn on-field both nights, in addition to the games featuring special first pitches. Giveaways are available to the first 15,000 fans at the ballpark.

-Beyond the new uniform, Sunday, June 2 ushers in Jr. Jays Sunday (1:37 p.m.). Kids 14 and under can run the bases postgame and take part in activities around the ballpark pre and in-game. Fans can reserve a postgame timeslot for their Jr. Jays to run the bases, with Jr. Jays Club All-Star Members receiving first access to registration.

-Tuesday, June 4 (7:07 p.m.) brings the fifth Loonie Dogs Night presented by Schneiders. Last Loonie Dogs Night, fans passed the 200,000-dollar dog mark in record time! How many more hot dogs will fans eat this week?

-The homestand wraps on Thursday, June 6 (1:07 p.m.) with School Day. Classes from around the GTA are invited to the ballpark to take in the game and show their Blue Jays spirit with a banner contest – lucky schools might even end up on the videoboard!
