Blue Jays trade Eden to Yankees

On Thursday, the New York Yankees acquired OF Cam Eden from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for cash considerations.

Eden, 26, has hit .198 with 34 runs, 10 doubles, two triples, seven home runs, 35 RBIs, 39 walks and 26 stolen bases in 91 games with triple-A Buffalo this season.

The right-handed batter made his major league debut with Toronto last season, appearing in five games with the club.

Over five minor league seasons in the Blue Jays organization (2019, ’21-24), Eden has hit .236 with 212 runs, 64 doubles, seven triples, 27 home runs, 166 RBIs, 158 walks and 153 stolen bases in 420 games. The Yuba City, Calif., native was selected by Toronto in the sixth round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of California, Berkeley.

Eden has been assigned to triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
